Meet the Maker: Turkeyfoot Creek Farm Elderberry Syrup, Shrub and Juice

August 23, 2026Granville General Store

Every month we like to shine a light on one of the makers whose work fills our shelves. This time it is Turkeyfoot Creek Farm, and their elderberries, done the honest way.

Who is Turkeyfoot Creek Farm?

Turkeyfoot Creek Farm grows elderberries and harvests them at their peak. They are naturally grown and turned into syrup, shrub and juice by a farm that skips the shortcuts: no synthetic chemicals, no GMOs, and Certified Naturally Grown (CNG) top to bottom.

That last part matters to us. Certified Naturally Grown is a peer-reviewed certification for small farms that grow without synthetic pesticides, herbicides or fertilizers. It is a way for a farm to show its work, and we like makers who are happy to show their work.

One berry, three ways to sip

We carry three Turkeyfoot Creek products. Same elderberry, three ways to enjoy it.

Elderberry Syrup

The classic. Many people keep a bottle in the fridge through the colder months and take a spoonful as part of their daily routine. It is also good drizzled over yogurt, pancakes or oatmeal, or stirred into tea.

Elderberry Shrub

A shrub is a drinking vinegar: fruit, sugar and vinegar, made to be mixed. It is tangy, bright and a little old-fashioned in the best way. Mix it with sparkling water for an easy afternoon drink, or use it as the base for a mocktail or cocktail when friends come over.

Elderberry Juice

Straightforward elderberry juice for anyone who wants to cook, bake or mix with it on their own terms. Add it to smoothies, reduce it into a glaze, or blend it with other juices.

Why we carry them

When we decide what goes on our shelves, we ask a few simple questions. Would we use this at home? Can we name the person who made it? Is it made with care? Turkeyfoot Creek checks every box. It is the kind of product that is better because someone paid attention at every step, from the field to the bottle.

It is also a good example of why we love working with small farms and makers. When you buy a bottle, your money goes back to a family farm instead of a faraway brand, and you know exactly how the berries were grown.

More makers, more often

Turkeyfoot Creek Farm is one of many local makers we are proud to carry. We spotlight a new maker regularly, and you can meet more of them on our vendor spotlight page or browse the locally sourced collection.
